Change of Command

Wednesday night Ryan announced a Change of Command.  That's right, Woo Woo is now the man of the house!  He's a bit more quiet but at least he cuddles. He has a big responsibility, me. He also has a small army to direct, toy soldiers, Lego men, GI Joe and even a Captain Moroni figure. Woo Woo buttered me up by having this necklace for me.  You can't see it really good but it's a dove.  When we first got married Ryan asked me what I liked to me called, "baby, babe, honey, dear, etc."  I wasn't a big fan of any of them. Then one day he said "my dove" and that kind of stuck.  I'll miss hearing him call (when he can't find something) "oh my lovely dove dove, where's my....!)
Today we woke up at 3am.  We got dressed. Ryan got to put on his new uniform (called multi cam). We headed over to Battle company.  I helped Ryan finish packing up his bags. I had to sit on top one of them so he could zip it shut.
We then waited in his locker (literally). We waited until 7 when he was then issued his rifle and pistol. After that he gathered up his bags and carried them to a truck to be driven over to the motor pool.  I helped carry one of his bags.  The one on his back is extremely heavy. He actually had to use the table behind him just to get it on.  Don't worry, he still has more bags and more heavy stuff to carry.
Once his bags were in the truck we said goodbye. He walked one way with his rifle and gear on and I drove away the other. I cried all the way home! Today I'd say my emotional state is a roller coaster. I'm fine one minute and then all of a sudden the tears come.  Day 1 is started, 364 more to go!

Wow!  It's been a long time since I've added to this blog. I guess you could say life has gotten busy. Since the last post, in 2013, much has happened. Here are the major events in the last seven years:  1. Ryan got off active duty military and we moved to Berea, Kentucky.  Ryan enrolled at Eastern Kentucky University. Ryan also joined the Kentucky National Guard. From moving so much I became fascinated with simplicity and minimalism. I am now a self proclaimed minimalist. I love having less stuff!  2. Ivy Helen was born on January 10th, 2014.  3. Summer of 2014 we moved to Bozeman, Montana. Ryan studied aviation at Montana State University. Ryan joined Montana National Guard. I got back into full time cosmetology educating. I also worked at MSU family housing. 5. Ryan graduated and is official a commercially rated pilot. We moved to New York for Ryan to go to aviation mechanic school. Ryan got out of the military completely and transition bec...

Here's some of our happenings up in the North Country. And if you thought we were patriotic before, take a look now. We acquired a giant flag (it goes from our living room to kitchen, covering our entire couch).
