Wednesday morning Ryan and I decided we needed to get away from Fort Irwin for at least a weekend. We purchased plane tickets and later that evening headed to Utah. One of the main purposes of our trip was to buy Ryan a new gun. He was quite disappointed, after finding the gun of his dream (folding stock M1 carbine), that CA laws don't allow those guns. Instead we splurged our money on 4 new pairs of shoes and lots of books.

During our trip to Utah we had the opportunity to return to the temple we were married at. It was much warmer then our last trip in December.

We rented an economy car but when we got to the rental place this was all they had, a mini van.  We quickly decided that it didn't quite fit us, a young couple, peeling out and rocking out!

Ryan purchased his 2nd vest. A bit cheaper then the first, $3!

Yesterday was my birthday. Ryan got up sometime in the middle of the night and decorated the living room. My favorite part was the b-day sign. It's right from The Office...It is your birthday.

We had another very successful FHE.  Our activity was putting together Legos.  We feel they represent the two of us as well; the military soldier with a large gun and the working women with a brief case!

It's very warm here, 120 degrees some days. Our air conditioner is constantly going. Sometimes when you come in from outside you actually cold inside. That's when we pull out the special green jacket. I call it "the skinny" and I have no clue where I got that name! It's actually called a "smoking jacket" and is an inner shell in an army regular jacket. All I know it that it keeps you warm. Also, did you notice anything different about my hair?

Don't pay any attention to the guy in the picture. Take a look at the blanket. It's my favorite and my mom made it.

A year ago our weekend consisted of riding bikes in funny outfits. Etta and Jared, do you recognize "the hat"?  I was receiving my first rifle shooting lesson. And my doll heads were participating in target practice!

The fan begins each day in the living room. Then by night time it ends up in the bedroom. How does the fan get from point A to point B? Quote from the fan carrier, "carrying the fan from the living to the bedroom is nothing, I used to have to carry a fan up and down stairs every day!"
