Summer = Softball Games

Fort Drum Softball Tournament Each Battalion has a team, I'm playing for 1-32 Infantry. Our first game of the day was against an Aviation Battalion. After our infield came together we gave em a what fer!! Our second game was against 2-14 Infantry. This one was an ESPN Classic. We were the home team, Top of inning 7, it's tied at 11. They get 3 runs in, but we aint scared. Bottom 7, somehow we have two outs and we haven't scored yet. Men on first and second,and guess who's turn it is to bat? So I get the count of 3-1 on me. Gotta be a meatball coming right? Indeed it was. Ripped down the third base line. One guy scores easy, the second man just makes it to third. The throw from the out field got cut off by the pitcher in the infield so I'm haulin to 2nd base and slide to beat the throw. The throw goes wild and into the out field. The man in third goes home tying it, and the throw home goes wild so I keep on truckin!! The catcher gets the ba...

Summer continues...

Our summer is still busy and we're still enjoying it. This past week we had the Montana Malczyk's come to visit. It was a blast! We started off at the splash park on base. Then went to Ryan's work and got to see his locker full of equipment. Next the kids played dress up! We ended the first day up at Sackets Harbor, skipping rocks, touching Lake Ontario and getting good, cold soft serve ice cream.

Birthday

Here's the birthday boy. He may have turned 25 but there's still lots of kid in him! Captain America swim shorts + patriotic flip flops +  parachute toy + air pop gun + Cold play concert tickets = good birthday. Can you figure out the party theme?!

Busy Summer

Our summer has been busy and it's only the month of June. We love it! Thatcher's first summer so far has been good. Here's the highlights: Working on sitting up. Hanging out with his friend Zayne (another deployment baby, born a week and half after his dad came home) Learning that his mom's sewing skills still need lots of practice! Chilin' with dad. And cooling off in front of the fan. Of course we can't forget the biggest events so far, 2 weddings! Aunt Camille & Uncle Kevin's wedding and "Auntie M" and Uncle Andrew's wedding.
He's getting stronger every day!

Thatcher News

Our little man has seen many places already, ball fields, temples, hall of fame, cider mill, farm, military base, stores, restaurants, drive-in and movie theaters. On all the outings he makes sure his best friends, Woo Woo and the Captain are with him.

Memorial Weekend

We had a great Memorial Weekend. Here's the run down starting with Friday: Ryan got to use his military ID and received free admission into the Baseball Hall of Fame.  Some of our favorite exhibits were the fan appreciation section, Hank Aaron tribute and stadium trivia. After the Hall of Fame we went on a search for the stars and stripes Boston hat (no dice). Although we didn't find what we were looking for, we sure did find lots of cool stuff like this American Flag made out of bats. If you're near the Baseball Hall of Fame you definitely have to stop and try all the food samples at the Fly Creek Cider Mill. Can't you tell Thatcher enjoyed the experience!? Saturday was spent down on the farm. We planted 20 sugar maple trees along the driveway that will grow up with Thatcher. Bobby was in heaven, getting to use the old farm equipment. The best part and most therapeutic for Ryan was "the shoot". 8 guns, 450 rounds, Zombie targets and cl...
