October Activities

Here's some pictures of what has occupied our last few weeks in October. If we had to do some prediction for Thatcher we'd say, "He'll be a drummer, follow in his Father's footsteps (mini Sarge) and go on a mission to Africa (since he is constantly clicking his tongue)." Thatcher likes his shoes from Aunt Julie and his shirt from Aunt Tracy. We got our Halloween spirit on and were the Gnome Family. Ryan's highlights of his month in Louisiana were growing a goatee and getting a snow cone. Soon we'll discover what November has to bring to us.

Growing

It seems there are weeks when all of a sudden Thatcher completely changes, this was one of those weeks. His top 4 teeth are almost all through. He's getting too big for his rocking chair. He gets bed-head now and he's already getting used to wearing a shirt and tie.

2 week adventure

Thatcher and I went on a 2 week adventure. It was a great way to help time go by while Ryan is training. It began on a Thursday, we headed down to Utica. Thatcher got to spend the night with Bobby while I was at a church meeting. He seemed to enjoy himself probably because he got to participate in his first kickball game in the church gym. Friday we got to spend the day with Jen, Rob Bob, Monica and Marie and for dinner Ben made "garbage" (you'll have to ask him what it is). Saturday was celebrating, eating and dancing at cousin Brandon's wedding. Sunday was spent in the car. Sunday evening was a surprise visit to the NC King's.The week was busy with shopping, seeing O's school, singing songs, watching shows by O and C, eating mom's delicious apple pie, going to a Halloween concert in a park (ever seen a Mario flute player or a gas masked drummer?), exploring Ikea and helping Thatcher cope with getting his 4 top teeth. On our way home we got to stop in to ...

Friends

Thatcher and I went to a birthday party where there were tons of kids and lots of babies. My friend and I often comment that these two boys have a special bond since they were both deployment babies and we did the centering program (group baby doctor appointments) together. Thatcher loves being around people, especially older children. He loves it so much that he was the disruptive kid at a baptism. Every time this boy Joshua looked or came near Thatcher, he started laughing, giggling, screaming and kicking his legs with excitement. I've been working on growing out my hair. It's getting long enough for a french braid tucked in. My motivation for getting it long is to do more braids and upstyling. Ryan's at JRTC (training down in Louisiana) for a month. Even though he's miles away he still makes me laugh. I had a frustrating day and when I texted him, asking him what he was doing, he replied, "watching Fievel Goes West." It brought a whole bunch of lau...
Thatcher is doing great on sitting up. Everyday he's getting stronger and topples over less.

End of the week

This is what happens after a very looooong week of work for Ryan. Thatcher and I were happy to have a weekend with him (even if most of it was catching up on sleep) especially since he'll be off to training soon.

Bowling

Tuesday afternoon Thatcher and I met Ben, Jen and Rob Bob in Lowville to do some bowling. Of course we had to spice things up with some funny hats, which lead to our game names. We had a great time and to my unbelief I came in first place with a whopping score of 105.
