Halloween

Our Halloween celebrating began with carving the pumpkin. We then waited for trick or treaters. We waited all night and still not one came. Ryan said, "we must live in the bad part of town!" Next was the branch Halloween party. You can image how a large number of primary kids loaded up on candy acted!  We contributed to the cupcake walk with our tombstones. Of course it wouldn't be Halloween without dressing up.  We were the Kings!

Art work

We attended a baptism where they handed out a program. By the end of the baptism this was the program. Guess who's art work it was?

Inside date night

We had the best "inside date" a few weekends ago. Ryan sent me to the back of the house and I had to stay there for quite some time. Finally I was allowed to come out and see what was going on. Ryan set up a huge tent in the living room. We had snacks, watched Monk and slept under the ceiling!

Fort Irwin Scenery

Picture #1 is the normal scenery of Fort Irwin (which I've shown before). Picture #2 is the big landmark here at Fort Irwin. I finally decided to take a picture of the "rocks." They have shirts and post cards with the big landmark. I guess it beats the normal scenery!

Morton's

This week Ryan and I went to Morton's steak house.  Our meal cost $135.61 and we paid $5 (I had a gift card). Ryan was extremely impressed (the waiter even put the napkin on his lap) and enjoyed every bit of his  20 oz. NY strip steak.  The next day we went to the Newport Beach temple. It was beautiful inside, with all kinds of dark wood.

Halloween prep

I'm continually learning about the King's family traditions.  I recently learned that Halloween can't happen until "The Great Pumpkin" is seen and enjoyed. My favorite part was when the girls needed a model for their jack o lantern and Charlie Brown's head was the perfect representation.  Ryan's favorite part, of course, is Snoopy as the WWI flying ace.

Drink your sorrows away!

After a set back I told Ryan he could come home and drink his sorrows away with root beer ! He defiantly took advantage of the root beer, even brought a glass with him into the bathroom.
